Truffle hunter is a UK based family food business, sourcing truffles from the Sibillini Mountains in Central Italy. Their sole business is selling the absolute freshest high quality Italian truffles and truffle products. Always innovating Trufflehunter are continuously expanding the range of products they produce from their factory near Cirencester in Gloucestershire. They are the only company manufacturing truffle products in the UK.
Director Nigel Whitehouse explains about the art of truffle hunting:
The Italian truffle season begins on the first of October each year. The trifolau (Truffle hunters) and their specially trained Lagotto Romagnolo dogs scour their territory for the elusive fungi. As they only occur naturally in the soil surrounding certain trees, and attempts to grow them artificially have proved unreliable, Truffle hunting is a serious business. The location of the Truffles is, in many cases, a closely guarded family secret passed down from generation to generation.
