1883 Maison Routin France
In 1883 French herbalist Philibert Routin selected 35 plants and herbs which grow on the mountain slopes of the French Alps and created Chambery Vermouth. The company still makes this unique Vermouth - but has now used their expertise in herbs and plants to create a huge range of natural syrups to flavour drinks and foods.
In 1987 they built Europe's first sensory analysis facility, Lab 1883, guided by Jean-Noel Jaubert's scientific work on the 'aromatic spectrum'. No fewer than 20 noses & palates are required to classify and define the complex array of sensorial emotions. Ingredients: Glucose syrup, sugar, water, milk chocolate 10% (sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, whole milk powder, emulsifier: soy lecithin, natural vanilla flavour), hazelnut paste 8%, stabiliser: natural glycerin, nonfat milk powder, low fat cocoa powder, modified food starch, emulsifier: soy lecithin, acidifier: tartaric acid, preservative: potassium sorbate, salt, artificial flavours.
