Irish couple Terry and Maureen Coughlan know good coffee – they’ve been working in the business since 1989. Terry's father Martin established Marco Boilers in 1980 (Marco may sound Italian, but it’s actually just an amalgamation of Martin Coughlan's first and second names) back in the day. When Terry and Maureen set up shop in the garage of their home in Dun Laoghaire (with two small children) at the tail end of a bad recession, it seemed like a risky move. But as business has expanded – to a purpose-built factory in Tallaght – so, too, has the family, two children are now four!
Originally, the business was focussed on repair & maintenance in commercial catering – but Terry's engineering skills and love of coffee led him to experiment with developing the perfect knockout draw. So he set up a fabrication workshop and developed a range of near perfect knockout draws. Now they have established a separate business The Coffee Knock Drawer Company and we are proud to stock their range in the UK. Their commercial draws now feature near-silent sliding mechanisms.
